Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves will attempt another comeback from injury according to his manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The 30-year-old suffers from tendinitis in his knee and has made a series of failed returns to action over the last three years.
The latest lasted just five minutes against Wolverhampton Wanderers last November.
The England international is out of contract in the summer and will hope to impress Ferguson to stand any chance of a new deal.
The Old Trafford boss will assess Hargreaves over the next few weeks with a view to including the midfielder for the season run-in as United chase the treble.
“Yeah, we have missed [Hargreaves],” said Ferguson. ”He’s a very good player but he’s been missing so long.
“From what we’re told he’s coming back from Germany and he’s going to start training on Monday with us so we’ll wait and see.”
