Tottenham Hotspur defender William Gallas is out for the next month after damaging his hamstring.
The 33-year-old picked up the injury in training on Tuesday and will miss a crucial period in the club’s season.
The French international immediately went for scans but is still awaiting the results.
He faces a race to be fit for the Champions League quarter-final but could return for the Premier League match against neighbours Arsenal.
His manager Harry Redknapp admits he is unsure on the extent of the injury.
“It’s not good,” Redknapp said to The Sun. “William just pulled up and now we have to wait and see whether there’s a tear.
“William’s been in great form for us. If he’s out for a long time it’s a big blow for sure.”
