Chelsea to have £30m bid for Chile star accepted
talkSPORT claim an offer of £30m will convince Udinese officials to sell Stamford Bridge target Alexis Sanchez.
An offer of £30m will convince Udinese to sell Alexis Sanchez to Chelsea or Manchester United, according to talkSPORT.
Chelsea reportedly bid that amount in the January transfer window, but the Serie A club were unwilling to negotiate midseason and disrupt their campaign.
Sanchez is capable of playing a trequartista role creating behind the strikers, as well as on the flanks, and would be of great interest to both teams given the lack of a true playmaker at either club.
Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to have earmarked Javier Pastore for that role in his side this season, which would then leave the path clear for Carlo Ancelotti and Roman Abramovich to swoop in.
Carlo Ancelotti is clearly looking to spend some of Roman Abramovich’s billions this summer and a move for Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez would be a good one considering the ageing nature of their overall squad. It seems likely that Florent Malouda may be on his way out and Yuri Zhirkov rarely gets a game so there seems good reason to fork out big money for the Udinese star.
Having secured David Luiz and Fernando Torres in January it seems that the Chelsea owner is keen to continue flexing his financial muscle and it seems that over achieving Udinese will accept big offers for their 22 year old prized asset, knowing that the talented winger may well have outgrown the Serie A club.
Manchester United and Barcelona are also said to be keen on Sanchez but it seems that the West London Premier League side are leading the chase.
