Chelsea striker Didier Drogba insists he is happy at the club and is intrigued to have contract talks in the summer.

Rumours suggest the Ivory Coast international was on his way out of the club following the £50million arrival of Fernando Torres in january.

The 33-year-old has lost his place under manager Carlo Ancelotti’s new rotation policy but says he is happy with it and wants to sign a new deal at the end of the season.

“It will be very interesting to see what happens in May,” Drogba said. “Then we can sit and speak about it and have a coffee.”

“It wasn’t easy the first week but that’s normal. Today, I know that we’re doing this for the best of the team. The team is more competitive.

“Everybody talks a lot about my future but I’m enjoying it and I’m happy to be here.”

“Salomon Kalou is not playing, (Florent) Malouda is not playing, sometimes Anelka, sometimes me, Nando. I think it’s good for the team.

“A team like Chelsea must have a lot of players to achieve a lot in a year.”
