Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Joe Jordan will be banned from the touchline for his side’s Champions League trip to the Bernabeu.
Uefa handed out the suspension following the altercation with AC Milan hardman Gennaro Gattuso during Spurs’ 1-0 defeat of the Serie A giants.
Gattuso has been given a four-match ban for his part.
Despite being head-butted and grabbed by the throat Uefa felt they had to discipline Jordan after emotions spilled off the pitch and into the dugout.
Jordan will have 72 hours to appeal.
“The control and disciplinary body has imposed a one-match ban on the Tottenham assistant manager Joe Jordan following incidents that took place at the Champions League round of 16 first leg against AC Milan,” a Uefa statement read.
“The punishment applies to Tottenham’s next game in the competition – the English club’s quarter-final first leg on 5/6 April.
“An appeal may be lodged against the ruling within three days of the dispatch of the reasoned decision.”
