Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is preparing to beat off competition to sign Southampton’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Blackpool’s Charlie Adam this summer.
Redknapp believes Spurs are only a few signings away from being serious title challengers and sees these two players as part of the solution.
Chamberlain has been the target of many Premier League clubs after impressing in League One with his blistering pace.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked with the 17-year-old but Redknapp wants the £10million-rated winger to provide more competition within his squad.
Redknapp wants to play the England U21 international down the left, with Aaron Lennon on the right, and push Gareth Bale to left-back.
Adam nearly signed for Tottenham on deadline day in January but the move could not be pulled off in time.
Redknapp is willing to go back in for the Scotland international, whose contract expires in June 2012, in the summer.
The arrival of Adam could spell the end for Niko Kranjcar at the club.
