Mestalla playmaker unlikely to move to Eastlands or Anfield.
Valencia midfielder Juan Mata is unlikely to be leaving the Mestalla according to the La Liga club sources.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a number of top European clubs over the last year, most notably Manchester City, Liverpool and Barcelona.
The Spanish media claim Roberto Mancini wants to pair Mata with his former team-mate David Silva and have been keeping close tabs on the Spain international.
Liverpool have also been targeting Mata for some time as they look for more width in their team to supply crosses for Andy Carroll.
But Valencia president Manuel Llorente has made it clear he is not looking to sell after having to sell prized assets Silva and David Villa last summer.
“The kid is un-negotiable because he is a key man in our project,” Llorente told Provincias.
The player’s agent and father, also named Juan, insists he has not had any contact with City.
“I have not spoken with City,” he told Sky Sports.
