WAYNE Rooney is the latest footballer to join blogging site Twitter – but he kicked off with a string of mistakes.
The Man Utd ace opened his account after the 1-0 win over Everton on Saturday and attracted 150,000 followers within hours.
His first tweet was to team-mate Rio Ferdinand, writing: “Hi Rio do you want picking up in the morning pal.”
Unfortunately, it flopped as novice Roo forgot to use Rio’s username, rioferdy5.
Later Wayne, 26, successfully tweeted – but with a spelling mistake: “Hi all this is Wayne Rooney just started so bare with me. Hope all is well. I’ll get rio to approve it’s me guys. Xoxo”.
Rio, 32, later verified the account, tweeting: “Wayne Rooney is entering the twitterverse tweeps!! (The Sun)
Sure to be hit on the social network Twitter, Wayne has revealed his love of Celtic, his happiness for Fernando Torres for finally scoring his first Chelsea goal, his assertion that the signing of Javier Hernandez is the buy of the century and called Piers Morgan “Sir” all within 24 hours!
