Anfield side set for a very busy summer.
Liverpool are set to sign French international Sylvain Marveaux on a free transfer from Rennes, the first of several new faces expected at Anfield this summer.
The winger who was at Anfield in December last year for the Reds 1-0 home defeat to Wolves is believed to have agreed a four-year deal, according to French newspaper L’Sport.
Marveaux who refused to sign a new deal with Rennes, has been out injured since November after re-aggrevating a groin injury during a Ligue 1 clash.
Liverpool Director Damien Comolli has believed to have played a pivotal role in convincing the former France Under-21 to sign for the Merseysiders, having previously been tracked by Manchester United and Chelsea.

According to most sources this could be the first of many this summer as the Merseyside club look to make significant changes to their current squad as they look to push on fight for a top four spot next term. Kenny Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli plan summer swoops to resolve some of Liverpool’s problem areas.
Sylvain Marveaux is a pint sized speedy winger that Liverpool will be hoping will add some natural width to their attack having seen the likes of Milan Jovanovic, Maxi, Joe Cole and prior to his sale, Ryan Babel fail to deliver. The Rennes man is on the fringes of the French national team set-up after five seasons in the Brittany based side.
Liverpool are also reportedly looking to strengthen their defence with the likes of Gary Cahill and Phil Jones being prospective centre back signings. There is also talk of a move to sign Everton full back Leighton Baines to resolve the left side of their defence but perhaps recent good performances from teenager Jack Robinson make such a move not as urgent?
Aston Villa wingers Stewart Downing and Ashley Young have also been targeted as Dalglish looks to bring in players who can provide the ammunition for strikers Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll. Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool’s owners, are apparently ready to fork out up to £75m to help bring the club back into the top four running and are looking to sign players who have potential and good sell on value.
Kenny Dalglish will also look to make sure that the club’s big names do not leave in the summer, especially keeper Pepe Reina who has been strongly linked with a move to Man United.
