Old Trafford boss looks to bring in talented youngsters to the club this summer.
Sir Alex Ferguson will this summer look to bring in the brightest young talents from across Europe as he looks to build the next generation of Old Trafford talent. The Man United boss will reportedly make bids for Lille winger Eden Hazard, Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson and press on with efforts to land Atletico Madrid keeper David De Gea.
Ferguson is looking to rebuild his Man United squad as a number of high profile players near the end of their glittering careers and has earmarked a number of potential targets and the Scot has been promised significant funds by the club’s owners.
Lille winger Eden Hazard is a long term target of both Man United and Arsenal and even though the 20 year old looks likely to lead his Ligue 1 side to the French title a move to the Premier League will surely tempt the talented Belgian international who can play either our wide or as an attacking central midfielder.
Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson has had a rapid rise to prominence at the Stadium of Light and boss Steve Bruce has conceded that he fears he may lose the England international when a big offer comes in for his services.
The final target of the trio is young Spanish keeper David De Gea who is seen as the ‘New Iker Casillas’, having shown great maturity during the past two seasons at Atletico Madrid’s starting keeper. Ferguson has reportedly made his interest well known to the Vicente Calderon side and it appears the Man United manager sees the 20 year old as the ideal long term replacement for soon to retire Edwin Van der Sar, as opposed to other targets Manuel Neuer and Pepe Reina.
In order to help make way for new additions and to generate funds to help balance the books the likes of Jonny Evans, Gabriel Obertan, Bebe and Danny Welbeck may all be offloaded and Owen Hargreaves and Michael Owen are unlikely to be offered new deals so there large salaries will be removed from the balance sheet to help the club make strong offers for new additions.
