Eastlands’ technical director issues hands off to Allianz Arena club.
Manchester City technical director Mike Rigg has issued a hands off warning to Bayern Munich over Jerome Boateng but insists the Germans can have Emmanuel Adebayor.
Merkur reported the Bundesliga giants were lining up a £40million double swoop for the Eastlands pair this summer as part of their rebuilding programme.
Defender Boateng signed from German rivals Hamburg last summer but has seen his opportunities in the first-team limited because of Micah Richards and injuries.
Striker Adebayor has not impressed manager Roberto Mancini with his work ethic and has been out on-loan with Real Madrid since January.
Rigg has hit back at the speculation claiming Boateng is not for sale because City are building a team to win the Champions League and Premier League.
But Rigg was not so definite on Adebayor’s future highlighting the similarities between the Togolese hit-man and former Munich hero Luca Toni.
“We have big goals for Jerome,” Rigg told Bild. “He is an important part of our planning. We play next season to qualify for the Champions League – with Jerome.
“He is not for sale!”
“Real has a purchase option (on Adebayor).” Rigg added. “Adebayor is a guy who would fit Bavaria. A very great player, a type such as Luca Toni . “
