Arsene Wenger keen on bringing Borussia Dortmund youngster to the Emirates Stadium.
German wonderkid Mario Goetze is the summer target for Arsenal as manager Arsene Wenger bids to strengthen his squad.
Wenger has been assured by billionaire prospective new owner Stan Kroenke that there is money for him to spend.
The pair will meet at the end of the season to discuss potential targets – and Goetze has been the subject of rave reports from Wenger’s German scout.
The 18-year-old is already established as a first team player at Borussia Dortmund and also the Germany national squad.
Goetze fits perfectly into the Wenger strategy. He would also be the perfect replacement for Samir Nasri should the French international not agree terms on a new contract.
If there is deadlock, Arsenal will sell, probably to Inter-Milan, rather than let him leave on a free next June.

Mario Goetze is one of several Borussia Dortmund stars who are apparently being tracked by Europe’s elite and is clearly the type of player that Arsene Wenger would scout. The teenage German sensation has been a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven but may be tempted by a move to the Emirates Stadium to join a club that is known for giving young talent the time and space to blossom.
The 18 year old attacking midfielder is now a regular in the German national team set up and is potential is frightening and Wenger is just one of many manager’s taking an interest in the Dortmund star who has helped his side to the Bundesliga title this term.
There is a fear that Samir Nasri’s decision to delay contract talks until the summer may be a sign that the former Marseille man is keeping his options open, in much the same way as fellow countryman Gael Clichy is doing.
Nasri has been the club’s most consistent performer this term and the Gunners boss will be keen to keep the talented winger at the club and Inter Milan are also reportedly interested in Robin Van Persie and of course Cesc Fabregas will be strongly linked with a return to Barcelona.
