Eastlands boss wants Goodison Park duo to spearhead Premier League assault.
Manchester City will launch a double raid on rivals Everton with a £50million bid for stars Leighton Baines and Jack Rodwell.
The Daily Mirror reports City manager Roberto Mancini spoke with his chairman Kaldoon Al Mubarak after the FA Cup final victory and agreed the need to improve the squad.
Left-Back Baines has been the target of both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal but both North London clubs are reluctant to meet the £25million valuation.
The 26-year-old would prefer not to leave his native North-West and is not pushing for a move but is tempted by the opportunity to play Champions League football.
Mancini will also push for a move for midfielder Jack Rodwell with Patrick Vieira heading for the exit.
The 20-year-old was linked with a switch to Arsenal and Manchester United but their interest seems to have cooled.
This has left the door ajar for Mancini to swoop in but it remains unclear if Everton will do business.
The club are £45million in debt and these two players are their most sellable assets.
But manager David Moyes does not want to lose his stars especially to City following Joleon Lescott’s controversial switch in 2009.
