Harry Redknapp is known to love a transfer or two, so here are ten players he might want to consider bringing to White Hart Lane this summer.
Having seen his North London side fall out of the top four, Harry Redknapp will be looking to make some changes to his White Hart Lane squad. It appears there are a couple, perhaps more, problem areas that may need fixing in order for Tottenham to once again take their seat at the Premier League’s top table.
Having seen Heurelho Gomes drop one too many clanger it could be that Redknapp opts to bring in a new keeper. With a number of injury concerns at centre back with Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate, William Gallas and Michael Dawson missing portions of last season, there may well be the need to bring in a defender who is not injury prone.
Perhaps the biggest problem area to resolve is up front. There is no doubting the pedigree of their current crop of strikers with quartet Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Peter Crouch all at some point in their careers considered top notch, the issue is that this season none of them got going. In fact the four of them only managed 16 Premier League goals between them, in marked contrast to the previous season when they produced a combined total of 56 goals in all competitions.
Chairman Daniel Levy will be keen for Redknapp to trim his squad before he can bring in new additions and it seems likely that loaned out players such as David Bentley, Robbie Keane, Jamie O’Hara and Giovani plus squad players like Niko Kranjcar and Jermaine Jenas will be available for the right price.
When Harry does get some cash in the bank, here are ten players he should consider splashing out on.
Diego Forlan (Atletico Madrid)
May be keen to exorcise his Premier League demons.
