Emirates boss wants Bernabeu striker.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will make a £30million bid for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema after admitting signing the striker is ‘not impossible’.
The 23-year-old has spent two seasons at the Bernabeu since moving from Lyon but has struggled to establish himself in the starting line-up.
The France international has enjoyed his most productive season yet, scoring 15 goals in 33 games but manager Jose Mourinho is not entirely convinced.
Wenger is expected to be busy this summer and a move for Benzema is expected to be the first of many.
The Gunners boss has ruled out any mega-money deals but he believes a £20million in cash plus a player, possibly Gael Clichy, could be enough to sway the Madrid board.
Wenger has expressed his admiration for Benzema and does not appear to rule out the possibility of trying to sign the forward.
“Signing him does not seem impossible,” Wenger told the The Sun. “He’s a player that I like.
“He’s intelligent in his movement, he is capable of combining well with others and making a difference, and of doing individual moves as well.
“So, for me, he’s a player who’s at the top level in the world.”
