Allianz Arena star could be heading to White Hart Lane or Goodison Park.
Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose is the subject of an intense tug-of-war between Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
The 32-year-old is a free agent as his contract with the Bundesliga giants expires this month and he is free to talk to other clubs.
Klose’s 14 goals for Germany in World Cup finals matches is only one behind the record, held by Brazil’s Ronaldo. He won the Golden Boot after scoring five times in the 2006 tournament.
Everton manager David Moyes is desperate to sign a proven scorer and is targeting Klose to provide the ammunition he requires.
The Scot has already sold James Vaughan to Norwich for £2.5million and is expected to let Yakubu join Leicester City as well.
Moyes will hope Klose will dovetail with Jermaine Beckford and Louis Saha to score the goals to fire the Toffees back into Europe.
But he will face competition from Spurs boss Harry Redknapp who also wants to sign a top striker after being priced out of many deals.
