Beira-Rio club want more money from White Hart Lane.
Tottenham Hotspur have been told to up their £10.5million offer if they want to sign Internacional striker Leandro Damiao.
The 21-year-old has attracted interest from a string of top European clubs, notably Barcelona, Benfica and Roma, but Spurs are the first club to make an offer.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is searching for a top quality striker and believes the Brazil international may just be the answer.
Redknapp missed out on a number of targets in January after being priced out of moves and struggled as his strike force could not fire his team back into the Champions League.
Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko are now reportedly up for sale as long as the price is right.
Internacional president Giovanni Luigi rejected Spurs’ bid because it did not match their £17million valuation and because the Brazilian season has not concluded yet.
‘It was the first concrete offer we’ve had (for the player),” Luigi confirmed. “I said I didn’t want to sell now, but I think they will come back with another attempt.
“I warned that he’ll only leave at the end of the year and for more money.”
