Emirates club snap up teenager from the Valley.
Arsenal have confirmed the signing of defender Carl Jenkinson from Charlton Athletic.
The 19-year-old has played only nine times for the Addicks but has impressed Gunners boss Arsene Wenger with his athletic displays from right-back.
The 6’1″ youngster has represented both England and Finland and has played for the Finland U21s and captained the U19s.
But as a result of the interest shown by Wenger, the Football Association is trying to persuade Jenkinson to switch allegiances and play for the country of his birth.
His arrival at the Emirates could spell the end of the line for Emmanuel Eboue, who has been playing second-fiddle to Bacary Sagna this season.
Eboue has had a mixed time with the Gunners. After being booed off by his own fans, he won them over with determined displays and comedy antics.
The Ivorian has been a target for Atletico Madrid and Sunderland in the past.
Arsenal have also confirmed Benik Afobe, Chuks Aneke and Oguzhan Ozyakup have pledged their long-term futures to the club.
