Emirates boss wants Ewood Park colossus.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is preparing a £10million offer Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba after missing out on his team-mate, Phil Jones, to Manchester United.
The 27-year-old was the subject of interest last January but the Ewood Park club would not sell as they needed to survive from relegation.
But Wenger is now ready to make a formal bid as he aims to include more height and physical presence into his back four, according to The Times.
The Frenchman personally spoke to Jones about moving to North London but to no avail as he chose the Premier League champions in a £16million move.
It was a busy day for the Gunners boss yesterday as he sealed the signing of Charlton Athletic full-back Carl Jenkinson. The 19-year-old moved in a reported £1million deal.
The Finland U21 international is Wenger’s third signing of the summer after agreeing a double deal for Barcelona teenagers Jon Toral and Hector Bellerin.
Wenger is also reportedly interested in Bolton defender Gary Cahill and Lille striker Gervinho but faces competition from Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.
