Stamford Bridge club will have to dig deep to land Brazilian.
Chelsea have been told they will need £41million if they want to sign Santos forward Neymar this summer.
The teenager has become the hottest property in world football following impressive performances in the Copa Libertadores and for the Brazil national team.
He has admirers all over Europe, including Real Madrid and AC Milan, but Chelsea are considered favourites to sign the 19-year-old.
The Blues’ owner Roman Abramovich tried to sign Neymar last summer but saw his bid rejected by the Brazilian club.
But the player’s value has continued to rise and the players agent Wagner Ribeiro says the Russian billionaire will have to dig deep to sign the star who could become as big Lionel Messi.
“Last year, Santos received an offer of £32million from Chelsea and it was rejected,” Ribeiro told The Sun. “Now he would not leave for less than £41million.
“Neymar is like Messi.
“Soon he will be the best in the world as he is a player like no other. He is just 19 but all the big clubs are following him.”
