Cameroon international linked with Emirates Stadium move.
Arsenal and Manchester City are considering a move for Inter Milan’s Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o after he revealed he would like to try his hand in the Premier League this coming season. “I have already shown that I have what it takes to play in Italy and I now have the idea of proving myself in England,” Eto’o told Corriere dello Sport.

Now this is a potential signing that would surely appease Arsenal supporters who long to see boss Arsene Wenger make a move for an established talent. Whilst Samuel Eto’o at 30 is not the same player he was during his Barcelona pomp there is no doubt that the Cameroon international still has a great deal to offer.
The experienced striker netted an impressive 37 times in all competitions for Inter Milan last term and if indeed Eto’o wishes to give the Premier League a try, then there will be no shortage of interest in his services.
Arsenal could do with further attacking options as they currently depend far too heavily on Dutch international Robin Van Persie who is obviously prone to suffering niggling injuries. Marouane Chamakh started last term well but went off the boil at the turn of the year. Nicklas Bendtner and Carlos Vela have not given Wenger any reason to believe they can be anything other than back up options and the North London club has therefore been linked with a myriad of alternative options.
Lille striker Gervinho is said to be close to securing a move to the Emirates Stadium and in recent weeks Karim Benzema has been strongly linked with a move to the club. Stars Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas have insisted that the club bring in big names to show their ambition and with that in mind Wenger appears ready to spend this summer.
Eto’o has amassed an incredible 250 goals in 469 appearances at club level and is a double Champions League winner, one of his triumphs of course coming in the 2006 final against Arsenal, a game in which he of course netted.
