Given that these players would cost nothing then perhaps the idea of reuniting three of those involved in the heady Champions League days would make sense, however their wages would surely be sky high and could then lead to disharmony at the club who know all to well how money can cost a club everything.
That said all three of these players are still able to do a good job at Championship level, just as long as injury issues that Jonathan Woodgate and Alan Smith have suffered wit for some time, are remedied. Lee Bowyer was a regular in the Birmingham City line up for the past couple of seasons and did help the St Andrews’ side back into the top tier back in 2008/09.
The trio have amassed over 500 appearances for Leeds United during their previous tenures at the club and were regulars during the club’s successful stint under David O’Leary which led the club into financial peril.
In other news the Elland Road side have decided to sell keeper Kasper Schmeichel to Leicester City. Simon Grayson felt that with one year left on his current deal it would make more sense to offload the Danish youngster rather than lose him for nothing next summer.
