Stadio Olimpico di Torino side want Anfield playmaker.
Juventus are preparing a £13.5million offer for Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles as the Reds look to trim down their squad.
The 28-year-old was signed by former manager Roy Hodgson last summer in an £11million deal from FC Porto and thrived under boss Kenny Dalglish after January.
But now it seems he may be surplus to requirements with Liverpool signing Jordan Henderson from Sunderland.
His transfer may mean Liverpool will up their £8million bid for Blackpool captain Charlie Adam or to raise funds for the purchases of Aston Villa’s Stewart Downing and Ipswich Town striker Connor Wickham.
Juventus offered Felipe Melo in a straight swap deal but Dalglish said he wanted the cash as he is focused on recruiting British players, according to the Metro.
Meireles enjoyed a promising debut season at Liverpool, winning the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year, bagging five goals and five assists.
He may not be the only Anfield exit this summer with Maxi Rodriguez, Paul Konchesky and Alberto Aquilani, who Juventus are also interested in, all up for sale as Dalglish plans an overhaul of his squad.
