Emirates club will sign Reebok Stadium and Stade Lille-Metropole stars.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants to announce the double signing of Bolton Wanderers Gary Cahill and Lille striker Gervinho before pre-season starts next week.
The Frenchman has approached his Reebok Stadium counterpart, Owen Coyle, about the availabiltiy of Cahill, in view of signing the 25-year-old.
Wenger wants the England international to help solve the crisis Arsenal have at the back and is willing to pay big money for him.
Cahill has a release clause of £17million, which Wenger is willing to activate, but Coyle will ask for players as part exchange.
The Bolton boss is said to a huge admirer of Carlos Vela after trying to sign the Mexican on-loan, but the Gunners boss does not want to lose him permanently.
Wenger is also contemplating a move for Birmingham City’s Scott Dann or Blackburn Rovers skipper Christopher Samba.
Cahill has one year left on his contract and wants to join Arsenal above interest from Tottenham Hotspur, who would be willing to offer Robbie Keane as part of the deal.
Wenger expects to sign Gervinho for about £10.5 million next week after Lille failed in an attempt to use Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in the forward to increase the asking price.
