Old Trafford youngster reveals the big news on his Twitter account.
It has been reported, by the Loughborough Echo of all places, that Federico Macheda has inadvertently let the cat out of the proverbial bag in relation to Man United’s pursuit of Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder.
The Echo state
It may be a bit of a poorly kept secret, but Manchester United striker Frederico Macheda has let out a leak from inside Old Trafford that Wesley Sneijder’s unveiling could be imminent.
The Italian took to the social networking site to say he hopes to see Inter Milan’s Dutch playmaker joining the club on their US tour very soon… before hastily deleting it again.
An official confirmation will be with us before the weekend.
And Twitter strikes again. We don’t know if this information is 100% accurate but other sources have also stated that the young Italian striker may well have jumped the gun on his Twitter account and it has been reported that Old Trafford chief executive David Gill is in talks to snap up the Dutch international, so perhaps that is just a case of crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s?
If Macheda has accidentally broadcast this huge news on the very public forum of Twitter, then Sir Alex Ferguson may want to have words with the young Italian. A number of his fellow team-mates enjoy cult status on the social networking site with Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney regular users. Michael Owen also enjoys a good bit of banter on there whereas Darron Gibson lasted 90 odd minutes of abuse before calling it a day.
