Goodison Park boss eyes youngsters to improve squad.
Everton manager David Moyes is planning a double swoop on Europe for Schalke winger Lewis Holtby and Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Canales.
The Toffee’s boss wants the youngsters to add more depth and creativity to his squad.
Holtby, 20, has impressed this season in the Bundesliga and has now become a full German international despite having the chance to play for England.
Moyes is hopeful a £6million will be enough to sign the starlet, who admits to being an Everton fan.
Canales, 20, is also on Moyes’ radar but face competition from Valencia, who want the Spaniard to replace Arsenal-bound Juan Mata, and Tottenham, who will need a replacement for Luka Modric.
Both Spurs and Valencia are looking to take Canales on a permanent deal but Real, who have a surplus of attacking playmakers, would prefer to lose him on a loan deal.
Moyes would be very happy to take him on-loan as the financial situation at Goodison Park is once again pretty dire.
Any bid would have to be in the £10million region, which will be out of Everton’s budget, so a temporary deal could persuade Real to do business.
