Emirates Stadium boss plans clear-out.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is preparing to offload a quartet of his squad as he looks to create funds for future additions.
Manuel Almunia is reportedly nearing a move to Atletico Madrid after seven up and down years at the North London club which have seen the 34 year old Spaniard dropping a number of clangers and the Pamplona born keeper did not join the Arsenal squad on their Asian tour so that he could seal a move back to La Liga.
Nicklas Bendtner was also absent from the touring squad and appears to be the target of a number of clubs and the likes of Bundesliga sides Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen have been linked with a move for the Danish international but the 23 year old is apparently keen to stay in the Premier League and there is speculation that Everton may seek to sign the giant striker but will seek a loan deal as they do not have the fund to meet Arsenal’s £12m valuation.
Arsene Wenger is also keen to sell Brazilian Denilson following his outburst during a recent friendly when he was substituted. The midfielder was already strongly linked with an Emirates Stadium exit and his behaviour appears to be the final straw in the failing relationship between the player and boss. His former club Sao Paulo are said to be interested and a loan deal appears on the cards with a view to the 23 year old moving back on a permanent basis.
Wenger is also said to be willing to listen to offers for French international Abou Diaby who’s inconsistent performances have marked his five years at the club. The Arsenal boss will consider selling the 25 year old if he manages to keep hold of Cesc Fabregas and there have already been approaches for the former Auxerre midfielder who was reportedly already the subject of a £10m from Besiktas.
Arsenal have already lost the services of Gael Clichy to Man City and are fighting to prevent their skipper Fabregas from joining Barcelona and also Arsene Wenger has already confirmed that he will keep Samir Nasri despite the fact that in 12 months time the former Marseille man could leave the club for nothing.
