Emirates boss wants St Andrew’s star after Reebok Stadium frustrations.
Arsenal will make a £10million offer for Birmingham City defender Scott Dann after becoming increasingly frustrated over Bolton Wanderers’ demands for Gary Cahill.
Dann, 24, has been on many club’s radar since the Blue’s were relegated at the end of last season, with Liverpool apparently leading the chase.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will now enter the race for the Englishman as he looks to add more steel and height to his back four.
Wenger was originally planning on signing Bolton’s Cahill and believed he had struck a deal for £13million plus two players, Ignasi Miquel and Henri Lansbury, on-loan.
But Trotters manager Owen Coyle is now insisting on the the 25-year-old’s full release clause valuation of £17million plus the two youngsters, despite Cahill having only one-year remaining on his contract.
Dann missed the last four months of the season because of a hamstring injury as Birmingham were relegated to the Championship.
The centre-half has proved to be a massive success at St Andrew’s and he has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the country.
Birmingham are now braced for a £10m bid for the centre-back who has attracted interest from Stoke City and Chelsea this summer.
