Anfield want Mexican hit-man.
Liverpool are in talks with Pachuca striker Marco Bueno to sign him on a five-year contract.
The 17-year-old has been offered a 10-day trial to prove his worth to the Reds after impressing during the U17 World Cup earlier this month.
Bueno scored one goal in helping his country win the tournament and the red half of Merseyside will be hoping he can make a similar impact as Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez.
Meanwhile, Rennes have completed the £1m signing of defender Chris Mavinga, 20, from Liverpool.
And this will not be the end of boss Kenny Dalglish’s business for defenders with the Scot hoping to sign Newcastle United left-back Jose Enrique.
The Spaniard is currently in America on the Magpies’ pre-season tour and it is unlikely a deal will be agreed until he returns to England.
The signing will mark the end of Dalglish’s summer-long hunt for a left-sided defender after missing out on Gael Clichy to Manchester City.
It signals the finale of Liverpool’s major transfer dealings following the arrival of Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Doni.
