Molineux want Anfield pair.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are preparing an audacious bid for Liverpool youngsters Jay Spearing and Daniel Ayala.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy wants to bring Spearing, 22, in on a season-long loan while he is willing to make Ayala, 20, a permanent deal.
Reds manager Kenny Dalglish has been impressed by Spearing after the local lad put in some commendable performances as Liverpool chased a European spot.
But following the arrivals of Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam, midfield places are in short supply with Lucas, Raul Meireles, Steven Gerrard and the returning Alberto Aquilani all competing for the central midfield roles.
But Ayala is still to break into the first-team and the money generated from his departure could be put towards a bid for Birmingham City defender Scott Dann.
The Spain U21 international performed well while on-loan at Derby County last season but any move will depend on Dalglish being able to go back into the transfer market, according to the Daily Mail.
The Scot may be prepared to let both players go out on-loan and gain more Premier League experience to help out the Reds further down the line.
Dalglish is well aware of the need to sell his fringe players before welcoming new arrivals.
Aquilani is said to be edging closer to a move back to Italy with Fiorentina but as yet no concrete bid has come in for the international.
