Anfield target will not leave the DW Stadium.
Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has declared striker Hugo Rodallega is not for sale despite continuing interest from Liverpool.
The 26-year-old has only one-year left on his current contract and the Reds are hoping to sign him on the cheap.
The Colombia international, still on leave after the Copa America, is reportedly keen on a move away from the DW Stadium and is hoping a major club will come in for him.
Liverpool are interested in signing another striker to act as cover for Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, with the departure of David Ngog looking more likely.
But Whelan, who has resigned himself to losing winger Charles N’Zogbia to Aston Villa, is hoping to agree a new deal with the hit-man.
“We’ll be talking to Hugo when he gets back from the Copa America,” Whelan told the Wigan Evening Post.
“As far as I know he’s happy here. We’d like him to stay.
“We’ve not had an offer in for Hugo, and I would imagine Roberto (Martinez) will be keen to get something sorted on that one.
“We do not want to be selling him though – absolutely not.”
