Ewood Park braced for first summer arrival.
Blackburn Rovers are on the brink of agreeing a £4.5million deal to sign Partizan Belgrade midfielder Radosav Petrovic.
The 22-year-old is just waiting on his work permit application to go through before the club can announce the transfer.
The Serbia international will help reinforce manager Steve Kean’s squad ahead of the new season after Jermaine Jones has gone back to Germany.
But the boss is sure striker Nikola Kalinic will be moving to Ukrainian side, Dnipro, in a £6million move.
“We’re very close (with Petrovic),” said Kean.
“We’ve agreed a fee, we’ve agreed personal terms and now we’re just subject to a work permit and Petrovic will become a Blackburn player.
“He’s a fantastic player, I’ve seen him for a number of years.
“Unfortunately for us we lost Jermaine Jones back to Schalke and we’ve been looking to strengthen in that area.
“We believe a bid has been accepted by the Ukrainian club that has been interested in Niko and if that goes through, then we wish him all the best,” he added.
“I think we’re very close to agreeing a deal and I think he’ll move on.”
