Anfield boss on the look out for defensive reinforcements.
LIVERPOOL have made an enquiry over Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic as they bid to plug their leaky defence.
The Reds have suffered a poor pre-season conceding goals at will and Kop manager Kenny Dalglish wants to buy a central defender.
Subotic is a man they have been monitoring for some time, and Liverpool have asked the German club to name their price.
It is believed a fee of around £13million will be needed to take the 22-year-old away from Dortmund.

A few things. 1) It would take a fee nearer to £20m to snare the Borussia Dortmund defender, who has become one of the hottest prospects in European football and 2) would the Serbian international choose to leave his Bundesliga side after helping them to a domestic title and Champions League action for the coming season? Seems unlikely.
Liverpool do need to beef up their defence given the injury concerns over Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel and the fact that Jamie Carragher is getting on a bit and that Sotiris Kyrgiakos is 32 and hasn’t convinced since his arrival at Anfield.
The likes of Scott Dann, Per Mertesacker and Gary Cahill have all been strongly linked with a move to the Merseyside club and after conceding 15 goals in six pre-season friendlies, albeit keeping a clean sheet in their last match with Valencia, it seems clear that Liverpool need to bring in new additions to resolve the problem.
Subotic is just 22 and has already had three seasons as a virtual ever present at the heart of the Dortmund defence and was one of the club’s top performers last term and it’s worth noting that Jürgen Klopp’s side conceded just 22 goals all season, the next lowest total in the Bundesliga was 40!
Liverpool could also do with a left back and to that end appear to be solely focused on Newcastle United’s Jose Enrique but may well start the new season with Fabio Aurelio in the role with youngster Jack Robinson as back-up.
