Old Trafford club will finally get the San Siro hero.
Manchester United will sign Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder for £32million in the next two days.
The 27-year-old was planning on holding talks with United officials following Holland’s friendly with England.
But the cancellation of the Wembley clash, due to riots, has allowed negotiations to be brought forward with the Old Trafford club hopeful of clinching a deal very soon.
The Dutch international claimed earlier this week that ‘unofficial’ talks had begun between the two sides, with the Serie A giants willing to accept £32million, according to the Daily Mirror.
His representatives will be in Milan on Wednesday to speed up the process, which would allow the player to fly into England to thrash out a £200,000-a-week contract.
The playmaker has a tax-free deal in Italy equating to around £250,000-a-week, but with United’s wage structure reaching only £180,000, there is still some way to go.
The Red Devils will add incentives to the deal including greater image rights, through their bigger commercial enterprise.
Nike, both Sneijder’s and United’s sponsor, are also believed to be keen on the deal going through and have offered their help in ensuring it does.
