St Andrew’s still waiting for offer from the Emirates.
Birmingham City manager Chris Hughton has revealed he is yet to receive a formal bid from Arsenal for defender Scott Dann.
The Gunners were rumoured to be holding talks with the 24-year-old over a move to the Emirates, but have not been given permission by the Blues.
The Englishman is in high demand with Liverpool and Stoke City keeping tabs on him, but the lure of Champions League football is proving too strong for Dann.
His length absence through injury last season is blamed by many Birmingham fans for their relegation from the Premier League.
The centre-back proved himself one of the top-flight’s most consistent performers, forming an impressive partnership with Roger Johnson at the heart of Blues’ defence.
But an injury in the Carling Cup final victory over Arsenal led to him missing the entire run-in, and he watched as Alex McLeish’s side were demoted to the Championship.
But Hughton, who has undertaken a major rebuilding job at St Andrew’s, has denied having any knowledge of an offer.
“I’m not aware of any contact from Arsenal,” he told The Sun. “But whether Scott will be with us after the deadline, I don’t know.”
