Carrow Road to welcome Anfield youngster.
Norwich City are on the brink of completing an £800,000 deal for Liverpool defender Daniel Ayala.
The 20-year-old joined the Reds in 2007 from Sevilla and has made only two Premier League appearances for the club.
The Spaniard spent last season on-loan at Hull City and Derby County and is expected to join the Premier League new boys very soon.
But Norwich manager Paul Lambert does not expect the deal to go through before tomorrow’s season opener against Wigan Athletic.
“There are things going on at the minute, but we will have to wait and see if it will transpire,” Lambert told a news conference
“It will be probably next week until something happens. We are more or less there and will just see how things go.”
Meanwhile, both clubs face tricky ties in the Carling Cup second round draw.
Liverpool travel to Exeter City in the most romantic tie of the round, with the home side hoping the game will be a banana skin for the Premier League giants.
Norwich City play host to Karl Robinson’s MK Dons, with Lambert wanting to prove his side’s top flight status is well-earned.
