Anfield international wants future resolved.
Liverpool midfielder Christian Poulsen wants first-team action or be sold by the end of the transfer window on August 31.
The 31-year-old has failed to establish himself in manager Kenny Dalglish’s plans since the Scot took over from Roy Hodgson in January.
The former Reds’ boss bought Poulsen from Juventus 12 months ago in a £4.5million deal but he has failed to convince Anfield he can cope with the pace of the Premier League.
Liverpool are now blessed with midfield options following Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson’s arrival at the club, meaning Poulsen is now surplus to requirements.
He could be sold to help finance other bids for more new arrivals with a centre-back a priority.
Liverpool will be looking for around £3million for the midfield enforcer but have not received much interest so far.
The Denmark international accepts he is not part of Dalglish’s thoughts and will push for a move before the transfer deadline.
“My future needs to be resolved in August and preferably as soon as possible,” Poulsen told Danish television station TV2.
“I have to get to play matches regularly. It’s obvious that I would really like to play football.”
