Emirates club welcome youngster.
Arsenal have signed Deportivo Saprissa striker Joel Campbell for £1million.
The 19-year-old was set to join the Gunners last month but it was delayed as the hit-man wanted to concentrate on the U20 World Cup.
The Costa Rica international will now compete with Robin van Persie, Marouane Chamakh and Nicklas Bendtner for a place in the starting XI.
Campbell will not take part against Liverpool, but could be thrown into first team action sooner rather than later.
“Everyone at Arsenal would like to welcome the young striker to the club and look forward to his contributions to the team,” an Arsenal statement read.
Campbell himself is looking forward to the new challenge and reveals what Gunners fans will be able to see.
“It is a dream come true to play for such a big club in England and I want to do well for myself and Costa Rica,” he told the club’s website. “I am ready.
“I am very happy to be here and I want to focus on doing well for Arsenal.
“Arsenal is a very well-known Club in Costa Rica. I am making history because no other Costa Rican player has ever played in a team with the quality of Arsenal.
“Only one player has been in the Premier League before but not like the one I am at now.
“I’m good in one-on-ones and I am a player who knows how to score goals. I play forward and I can play on both sides.
“I am going to learn a lot from the players here because they are experienced players who are very skilled.
“Arsene Wenger is a manager of immense quality. He knows how to use youngsters’ ability.
“I have been watching Arsenal play since I was a kid and I took this decision because I know I have a possibility to become a better player here.”
