White Hart Lane boss on a mission to trim massive squad.
With 27 players over 21 in their squad and only 25 eligible under Premier League rules, the pressure is on to sell players.
Stoke still hope they might be able to do a deal for Wilson Palacios and would also go for Peter Crouch or Jermaine Jenas at the right price.
Spurs want to sell Alan Hutton, Sébastien Bassong and David Bentley but need to reduce their asking price if they are to generate interest.
Niko Kranjcar, a target for Sunderland, is another who could go, even with the current problems with injury in midfield.

Harry Redknapp has had a subdued transfer window thus far, restricted to very few signings thus far, two teenagers and Brad Friedel so far the sum total of activity this summer, this has mainly due to Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy insisting that the North London club sells before it buys any more players.
Robbie Keane and Jamie O’Hara have been sold to LA Galaxy and Wolves respectively but those sales have brought in relatively little in the way of transfer funds and Redknapp is reportedly still keen to sell off eight other players just as long as the right price is paid.
Stoke City are reportedly ready to offer up to £17m for the combined services of Peter Crouch and Wilson Palacios and the nearer we come to the business end of this transfer window, the more likely that deal will be struck. Jermaine Jenas would be a third option that Tony Pulis may crave if he can’t get the Honduras international.
Rangers are said to be interested in their former full back Alan Hutton but any deal would more likely be a temporary one. Sebastien Bassong has been strongly linked with a return to France with the likes of PSG and Lyon keen to bring the Cameroon International back to Ligue 1.
There is relatively little interest in David Bentley due to his high wage demands although there are faint murmurings that Blackburn Rovers could be keen to bring the former England man to Ewood Park and Niko Kranjcar may well be Sunderland’s 11th new signing of the summer.
Giovani dos Santos is certain to leave and could be on his way to La Liga with Sevilla and Racing Santander both keen on the Mexican international who appears to not have a future at Tottenham under Harry Redknapp.
