Emirates Stadium boss turn to Stamford Bridge man to add experience to midfield.
Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun as Arsene Wenger looks to add more experience to his youthful side. The Israeli international has arrived at the Emirates Stadium and any potential move to the North London club appears dependent on whether the Gunners boss secures his first choice buy, Everton’s Mikel Arteta.
Wenger has been looking to bring in players to help the club cope with the loss of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas and appears to be an admirer of former Liverpool and West Ham man who is thought to be available for a nominal fee of around £3m although there has been some talk of the move possibly being on an initial loan deal.
Benayoun has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge after missing most of last term due to injury and has now fallen further down the Blues pecking order following the signing of Juan Mata from Valencia.
