Upton Park welcomes Emirates youngster.
West Ham United have announced the signing of Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old has signed for the Hammers as a replacement for Scott Parker, who moved to Tottenham earlier today for £7million.
The England U21 international wants regular first-team football having failed to make the breakthrough with Arsenal.
He came on as a late sub in the Gunners previous two league games, despite an injury to Jack Wilshere, Alex Song’s suspension and the departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.
Even debutant Francis Coquelin was preferred in the centre of midfield at Old Trafford by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
Lansbury has been linked with moves to QPR, Wolves, Blackburn and Norwich, the team he helped secure promotion to the top flight while on-loan last season.
But he will drop back down to the Championship to become Sam Allardyce’s 10th signing of the summer.
Lansbury will be joined in the Hammers’ midfield by Papa Bouba Diop, who signed a one-year contract yesterday.
Former Arsenal midfielder David Bentley has also joined West Ham after he joined them on-loan from Tottenham for the rest of the season.
