Emirates Stadium boss keen on Nou Camp winger.
Barcelona are concerned about losing teenage winger Gerard Deulofeu to a Premier League club.
Arsenal and Chelsea are already circling for the exciting talent, who has caught the eye for Spain U19 in recent months.
El Mundo Deportivo are aware of the interest and anxious about upgrading Deulofeu’s contract – which currently has an affordable €3 million buyout clause.
Clearly a £2.6m release clause will be small fry for both Chelsea and Arsenal and some sources have stated that Arsene Wenger is ready to register his interest in the 17 year old attacker, despite the years of anguish his North London club have gone through with the repeated attempts, eventually successful, to bring former Nou Camp youth team player Cesc Fabregas back to the Catalan giants.
Gerard Deulofeu joined the Barcelona academy aged just nine and has progressed through the ranks all the way up to the B team and has also been making his way through the Spanish national team set-up from Under 16 and 17 level and now up to an Under 19 spot, culminating in a couple of sub appearances during pre-season friendlies in North America.
Pep Guardiola is said to rate the teenager, who can play up front or more commonly on the wing.
Wenger clearly has an eye for young talent and is known for bringing in young talent to work alongside those coming through the club’s academy. This summer the Arsenal boss brought in Carl Jenkinson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Charlton and Southampton respectively and both have made their first team debuts, mainly due to injury problems.
The Gunners manager saw Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy leave in the summer and even though Arsenal brought in established experienced players likes Mikel Arteta, Per Mertesacker and Andre Santos it is clear that the Frenchman will not abandon his policy of trusting to youth.
