Gaston Ramirez to move to Old Trafford?
Manchester United have reportedly ‘made contact’ with Uruguayan winger Gaston Ramirez’s representatives over a move from Bologna.
Media sources in the Italian city claim the Red Devils have been joined by ‘noisy neighbours’ Manchester City in their pursuit of the player, with the pair keen on bringing Ramirez to England at the next available opportunity.
Any issue in relation to a work permit is also not thought to be an issue, given the player’s increased involvement with his country at international level. The 20 year-old helped Uruguay win the Copa America in the summer.
Likened to Chilean international and Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez, Ramirez is reported to be aware of the interest from the Barclays Premier League clubs.

Gaston Ramirez is a promising talent who could go on to do big things at Manchester United, but quite what “contact” they have made is unclear.
Perhaps they have sounded him out about signing for the club.
Perhaps David Gill has just texted to ask him about the latest series of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
In all seriousness, Ramirez has been immensely impressive since arriving at Bologna.
The 20 year-old was the subject of a bid from Man City back in April, but it was quickly rebuffed.
“It’s a concrete offer from Manchester City for him,” said Ramirez’s agent Vincenzo D’Ippolito at the time.
“I don’t know what amount but Bologna, for now, said no. These are the first signs, we’ll see what happens.
“Bologna want at least €20 million [£17.5m] for him.”
Now it appears that Manchester United have joined their local rivals in the pursuit of the wonderkid, but they will certainly have a fight on their hands to win the race for his signature.
