Where did it all go wrong for Fernando Torres?
Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas has revealed that he could drop Fernando Torres should he continue to misfire up front.
The Spanish striker has only scored one goal for the club since signing from Liverpool in January, though he did impress in the Blues’ opener against Stoke City.
Torres was called up for Spain in the international break, but did not even make it onto the bench for their match against Liechtenstein.
Now, it appears his club are preparing similar treatment.
“[Torres] didn’t lose his talent talent because he’s played 21 games and only scored one goal,” explained Villas Boas.
“The talent is there and the question is regaining confidence.
“That comes from training and from time and finding the back of the net, so we have to persist.
“But it can’t compromise the team.
“The moment it compromises the team it has to come to an end.”
