Valencia striker on way to Anfield or Emirates Stadium?
Liverpool and Arsenal are battling to sign Valencia forward Paco Alcacer [SOURCE: Marca].
Although Liverpool scouts were spotted at the Mestalla to watch the 18 year-old as early as last season, it is Arsenal who are favourites to sign the teenager – although Barcelona are thought to have had a €3m offer rejected in the summer.
Valencia are likely to demand a figure far higher than that, and it appears that Wenger is ready to offer the €10m (approximately £8.7m) that his club are demanding.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish may have to play his hand earlier than he anticipated if he is to sign Alcacer then, but is hesitant to match Arsenal’s fee.
Paco Alcacer – or Francisco Alcacer to give him his full name – is a promising striker who scored a decent goal against AS Roma in pre-season.
The match was also marked with tragedy though.
Alcacer’s father died shortly after the game’s conclusion – but was able to see his son score his goal, which you can watch below.
