Anfield supremo good for a few bob.
LIVERPOOL FC owner John W Henry has made it into the world’s top 400 rich list.
Forbes has announced that the financier has broken into the exclusive club.
The 61-year-old is now ranked 375th, with a net worth of $1.1bn.
Henry suffered a turbulent few years business- wise, which saw him dropped from the billionaires’ club. But a series of additions to his empire has seen him climb back in, driving his wealth above the $1bn requirement mark. In March, he was ranked 410th richest American, or 1,140th worldwide. It is thought Henry’s elevation was fuelled by his acquisition of Liverpool FC.

Well Liverpool can not fault their new American board, infinitely more willing to splash the cash than Messrs Hicks and Gillett, and it seems that even though Mr. Henry has handed Kenny Dalglish over £100m to bring in new players in 2011, he is still very much ‘in the money’.
Henry and his cohorts purchased the Merseyside club in a deal said to be worth around £300m and though the Premier League season has been a bit up and down it does seem that life under the club’s new owners is infinitely better than those they replaced.
Wonder where Tom Hicks and George Gillett figure on the Forbes list? Oh yes, they are nowhere to be seen!
