Goodison Park welcomes back star.
Everton are on the verge of re-signing striker James McFadden with the player today undergoing a medical at Goodison Park.
The 28-year-old is available on a free transfer and has been without a club since being released by Birmingham City last summer.
He has worked hard to return to full fitness after a serious knee injury kept him out for a year.
Celtic and Wolves were keen to sign the Scotland international but return to Everton was too much for McFadden to turn down.
He spent five productive years with the Toffees before leaving for Birmingham in 2008.
It appears he is now poised to complete a return to Merseyside, with Everton prepared to hand him a deal should he agree terms and pass all the relevant medical tests.
