Bernabeu boss keen to land Old Trafford man.
Real Madrid are believed to be preparing a shock £10million summer swoop for Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic.
And that could plunge Sir Alex Ferguson into a major defensive crisis – with the United boss believed to be ready to listen to offers for Rio Ferdinand.

Really? Quite how Real Madrid would think that a fee of £10m for one of the best centre backs in Europe is a fair price is beyond me. However it may well prove the case that Jose Mouinho needs further defensive back up a move of that meager proportions is not likely to bear fruit.
The 30 year old Serbian has spent large chunks of the season out with injuries but it’s not surprise that having made his comeback he has led Man United to four clean sheets in four games, such is the measure of the man. Sir Alex Ferguson has tried a number of centre back pairings as a result of Vidic’s lay off and he has found out that some of his players have faltered.
Jonny Evans has been consistent but made a serious error against Man City and Rio Ferdinand has lost a yard of pace and may well find first team chances limited. Youngsters Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have more often been used at full back though both can play effectively in the centre, but above all Nemanja Vidic is the best defender the Premier League champions possess.
Real Madrid have been awesome going forward but have had to use Sergio Ramos in the centre of defence alongside Pepe because Ricardo Carvalho has had some injury concerns, hence the possible need for reinforcements.
