Luiz Suarez is demanding an apology from Patrice Evra over claims the Liverpool striker racially abused his Manchester United rival.
The Uruguay striker insists he is not guilty of the allegations – currently being investigated by the FA – and that Evra’s United team-mates were “surprised” by the Frenchman’s reaction.
He said: “The FA will have to clear it up with him, because there is no proof at all that I have said anything racist. I didn’t say anything like that to him.
“There were two parts of the discussion, one in English, one in Spanish. I did not insult him, it was just a way of expressing myself. I called him something his team-mates in Manchester call him and even they were surprised by his reaction.”

So the obvious question is, what name is Luis Suarez referring to? Presumably it wouldn’t be a racist term as his team-mates would clearly not abuse him in this manner. Perhaps it relates to his nationality? We are none the wiser.
This whole saga has gone on way too long and the FA should really have concluded their investigation some time ago. If there is evidence that Suarez has racially abused the Man United full back then clearly the Uruguayan should be punished but clearly if Evra has made a claim that he can not substantiate then he also deserves punishment.
