Stamford Bridge side keen on St James’ Park youngster.
Chelsea are preparing a shock bid for Newcastle United youngster Sammy Ameobi.
The People says Stamford Bridge boss Andre Villas-Boas is plotting a shock move for Ameobi.
But Chelsea will face a fight to tempt the Geordies into doing business, with boss Alan Pardew last night insisting Ameobi will not be going anywhere.
“Sammy is a bit different. He offers – especially with Gabriel Obertan at the moment being injured – something different. We’ve got to see how bad Obertan is but Sammy isn’t going anywhere.”
Andre Villas-Boas is looking to reverse the ageing nature of his Blues side and has brought in a number of youthful talents whilst also trusting more to those already at the club when he took over, does that mean he is interested in Newcastle United attacker Sammy Ameobi, apparently so.
Shola’s 19 year old younger brother has a languid style that belies the obvious talent he does possess and the early indications are that he may well go further than his sibling, who arguably has seen inconsistent form and injury problems stiffle his career at St James’ Park.
Ameobi has good control for a player of his size and seems better out on the wing than up front but whether Chelsea are interested in the teenager or not, it does seem that Alan Pardew is grooming the youngster into becoming an important part of his first team plans.
